Control of Various Technical Parameters When Concrete Additives are Mixed in Asphalt Mixing Stations

Aug. 03, 2020

If the Asphalt Mixing Station is subdivided, there can categories as mobile and fixed, or customized half mobile type. Obviously, the various systems of the mobile asphalt mixing station (cold aggregate hopper, drying cylinder, main mixing building, powder silo, bag filter, asphalt heating system) with tires, could be of traction and moving, and the transition is convenient and flexible, but the production capacity is limited; however, the fixed asphalt mixing station needs to use concrete to lay the foundation, and then fix the equipment on it, the production capacity is relatively high.

Asphalt Mixing Station

No matter what type of asphalt mixing station is, they must strictly control the amount of admixture, the method of mixing and the mixing time of the concrete in the process of use; and cannot be ignored due to the small amount of mixing, add cannot treat adding less admixture as savings; and not shortening the mixing time as speeding up the progress.

In other words, during the operation of the asphalt mixing station, the additive in each batch of concrete must be quantitatively added, and it may not be mixed sometimes and sometimes not. Such as retarder, if there is retarder concrete and non-retarder concrete in the silo, it will cause cracks in the concrete due to uneven setting time.

Of course, the method of blending must also be proper, and those that need to be mixed after hydrolysis must not be mixed dry. Powdery admixtures are required, and if agglomerated, they cannot be used. Such as water reducer or air entrainer, if the control is not good, soft solid mass will appear in the concrete, and eventually lead to the formation of pores in the solid concrete.

The mixing time of the asphalt mixing station should also be controlled, and the 3 minute mixing time requirement should be met. If the mixing time is not sufficient, the role of the water reducing agent cannot be fully exerted. If only adjusting the amount of water alone to meet the slump requirements, it will results in a decrease in the strength of the concrete and the disadvantages of concrete segregation.
