Pollutants from Asphalt Mixing Plant Operation

Asphalt Mixing Plant

Asphalt Mixing Plant

1. Harmful gas. The flue gas produced by the drum burner, the asphalt fume generated from discharge opening of the finished product bin, the asphalt tank, and the heavy oil tank, and the SOx, NOx, CO, and CO2 emitted from the chimney.

2. Dust or smoke. Generated from processes of raw aggregate loading, belt conveying and feeding, mixing in the main building and the aggregate yard.

3.Odor. The odor produced by the asphalt during storage, unloading, and heating, as well as the odor of the burner during operation and the odor of the asphalt mixture on the transport vehicle.

4. Noise. Caused by loading of loader, running of induced draft fan, turning of drying drum, lifting of aggregate elevator, vibration of screen mesh.

5.Waste water, waste liquid. Wastewater and waste liquid mainly come from cold aggregate storage (infiltration or mixing with natural soil), fuel tanks, thermal oil, oil and gas storage tanks, pipes and gas stations, solvents, additives, etc.

6.Waste material. The waste material comes from the secondary recycled powder(waste filler) out from the bag filter, the solvent for laboratory analysis, etc.

7.Visual aspects. It is mainly the visual impact of the main building or chimney of the mixing plant, and it is also related to the color of the paint of the mixing plant. Others include the steam in the wet aggregate discharged from the chimney on bag house, the storage site of cold aggregate, and the lighting of the plant area.
